Why you’ll love this trip
Machu Picchu is the headline, but Peru keeps surprising you: Lima’s ceviche, Andean markets, terraced valleys and a lake so high it feels like the edge of the sky.
Our route drops you into the lower Sacred Valley first, so your body can adjust to altitude gradually before Cusco and Lake Titicaca. Expert local guides lead every major visit, and we use the Vistadome train for the journey to Machu Picchu.
Highlights
- Guided visit to Machu Picchu, with a second entry to see it in different light
- Vistadome train along the Urubamba River
- Pisac market and the circular terraces of Moray
- Colonial Cusco and the Qorikancha sun temple
- Uros floating islands and a homestay-style lunch on Taquile Island
- Ceviche and pisco tasting in Lima

Cusco sits at about 3,400 m and Puno about 3,800 m. Our itinerary ascends gradually, but please check with your GP before travel.
Do we hike the Inca Trail?
Not on this departure. We visit Machu Picchu by train, which suits most travellers. Ask us about adding the classic 4-day trail.
What is the best time to visit Peru?
May to September is the dry season, with clear skies in the Andes. Our departures fall in this window.
