Lotus to Lanterns is the tour Bridgette has designed and will host herself: eleven nights across Vietnam and Cambodia for a small group of 14 women who want to get under the skin of a place, with all the luxuries taken care of.
This is not a flop-and-drop holiday. We move every two or three nights, from a wellness night on a yacht in Ha Long Bay to coconut boats and rice paddies around Hoi An, a jeep tour and a cocktail-making scooter tour through Saigon, and sunrise at Angkor Wat. There is downtime too, with massages, a cooking class and four- and five-star hotels.
It is all-inclusive: return flights from Auckland, accommodation, transfers, activities and most meals. Flying from elsewhere in New Zealand? We tailor the package to cover it. Solo travellers can share with a matched roommate at the twin-share price or book a single room.

Itinerary

Day 1: Xin chào, Hanoi
Fly from Auckland to Hanoi. Transfer to our Old Quarter hotel for a welcome dinner together.

Day 2: Hanoi on foot
Guided walking tour of the Old Quarter, the Temple of Literature and Hoan Kiem Lake, then a street-food tasting.

Day 3: Ha Long Bay wellness cruise
Board our four-star boat for a night of wellness: yoga on deck, kayaking among the karsts and a massage on board.

Day 4: To Hoi An
Tai chi at sunrise, then fly to Da Nang and transfer to the lantern-lit old town of Hoi An.

Day 5: Paddies and coconut boats
Cycle through rice paddies and herb villages, then spin through the water palms of Cam Thanh in a traditional coconut boat.

Day 6: Market to table
Morning market visit and cooking class. Free evening in the old town as the lanterns come on.

Day 7: On to Saigon
Fly to Ho Chi Minh City. Afternoon at leisure with a spa massage.

Day 8: Saigon by jeep and scooter
A vintage jeep tour of the city by day and a cocktail-making scooter tour by night.

A free day for shopping, tailoring, the War Remnants Museum or an optional Mekong Delta trip.

Day 10: Siem Reap
Fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Evening Apsara dance performance and dinner.

Day 11: Angkor sunrise
Sunrise at Angkor Wat, then the faces of the Bayon and the jungle temple of Ta Prohm. Farewell dinner.

Day 12: Homeward
Transfer to the airport for your flights home to Auckland.

Are flights included?
Yes. Return flights from Auckland and all flights within Vietnam and Cambodia are included. If you are flying from Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch or elsewhere, we tailor your package to cover the extra legs.
Can I join on my own?
Absolutely. Most women on this tour travel solo. We will match you with a roommate at the twin-share price, or you can book a single room from NZ$10,790.
Do I need to be fit for this tour?
You should be comfortable walking a few kilometres a day and getting on and off boats, bikes and scooters. Scooter tours are with professional drivers, so you ride as a passenger.
Why women only?
Many women tell us they feel more relaxed and adventurous travelling with other women. The group is open to any woman whose travel style fits the itinerary.
How do payments work?
A deposit secures your place, with the balance due before departure. Payment plans are available, so you can pay the tour off in instalments.
